Date.com - and the hypes of online dating sites

With the advent of social networking sites like friendster, myspace, etc, it’s no surprise that some of the webmasters actually developed their online dating sites with a similar model to that of friendster.

How these online dating sites work:

Similar to the personal ads in newspaper, people register for the sites to avail of their benefits. After registration, people type in their profiles, interests, essays, and etc that might make them more appealing to all the other hundreds and thousands of members for that particular site. Take note that there are over hundreds of online dating sites which cater to all… preferences (single, married, gays, lesbians, straight, senior citizens and all others. you name it, they got a dating site for it). After tweaking the profile, it’s time to put in your mugshot or photo (whether it’s scandalous, candid or just a webcam snapshot). Now that you’re done with your  profile, it’s time to look for “mr. / ms. right”. most of the sites have SEARCH features which enable you to search for other members according to your preferences. With search filters like age, location and photos available, you won’t be having a hard time trying to browse thru ALL of the other members.

An example of an online dating site would be: Date.com and here’s what I think of this site:

First off, i’m a free member here so i only get to browse for other potential girlfriend material from the thousands of members here. It’s user friendly and the site is very easy to navigate.  In my own personal opinion, this site’s great. I may be biased a bit because well, I’ve found someone through this site. All in all, it doesn’t hurt to try and register for one of the thousands of online dating sites.

I’d like to recommend the following dating sites to all of the readers:

Date.com

Amor.com

Matchmaker.com

Sign up and enjoy the hunt…
